Samsung Galaxy Note II N7100 Review,Price and Specifications

Samsung Galaxy Note II N7100 Review,Price and Specifications - The predecessor to the legendary Galaxy Note,Galaxy Note II has been launched and is the latest buzz in the market. Galaxy Note was a true revelation. While some complained that it was too large for a phone, but it was a tremendous success never the less. Now, the Korean firm have come up with the sequel to the super successful phablet. Let's see what they have on the plate this time.

Firstly, coming to the design and structure, the design of Galaxy Note has primarily been kept the same with some modifications. The Note II is a little longer, slimmer and heavier than the Note. It resembles more with the Galaxy S III than the Note looking at the body and structure of the device. When it comes to the display, it certainly overtakes the Note in this field. The colors are much more crisp and sharp. Samsung have tweaked the display from Note giving it some modifications leading to a much better color rich display. Note II has an extended screen of 5.5 inch with a resolution of 1280*720 pixels. This resolution might be less than the Note(1280*800 pixels) but this has resulted in better compatibility and viewing experience as it is true 720p.

Now, coming to the hardware. People who have used the Note will know what speeds it provides, Note II just takes the performance to the next level. It packs the power of a quad core exynos 1.6 GHz chip and 2 GB of RAM giving it tremendous speeds. It houses a 3,100 mAh battery providing a stand-by time of about 980 hours. The memory of the phone can now be expanded to upto 64 GB via a microSDHC card slot.

The camera of the Note II is also very good. It has an 8 MP shutter at the back along with LED flash and features such as auto focus, geo tagging, touch focus and a bunch of other features. It also has a 1.9 MP camera in the front with an LED flash. Both the cameras are capable of HD recording of upto 1080p. Image quality is very good competing with the quality of a DSLR.

Talking about the software, it runs latest version of Android, the Jelly Bean. The OS is impressive and the Touchwiz interface is brilliant as well. The Jelly Bean provides a number of new features to the phone such as Google Now and Project Butter. Project Butter adds to the slickery of the device making it much more smooth and fluidic.

One of the most talked about features of the Note has always been the Stylus. This time also, it deserves a special mention. The screen uses digitizer from Wacom - a firm known for its high quality graphic tablets. This enables the screen to be operated from the finger as well as the stylus. The stylus has been modified a bit from the previous Note. It is thicker and longer than the previous version. Samsung now supports hover feature with the Pen, which means that the screen responds to the pen even if it is not touched with the screen. This feature is helpful while browsing through messages and apps.

Looking at the big picture, Note II is a worthy upgrade to the Note. It surpasses the Note in every way and is a pretty powerful device. It faces tough competition from the I-Phone 5 at the moment. The Note II has a price tag of $750. If you can lighten your pockets a bit, this is an impressive device to have.
